Tweaks around the humble abode!

Well it is April 30th here in the Great White North and this is what we woke up to yesterday morning...

Mother Nature obviously hasn't received the memo that it is Spring!   I am itching to enjoy my summer ritual of casually sipping my morning java in my pajamas on the deck. Listening to the birds chirping and watching the antics of our resident squirrels is the perfect way to start the day!

Feeling optimistic that we will enjoy our morning coffee on the deck this coming weekend, we decided to spend this past one finishing small projects indoors around our humble abode.

In the Frugalista's Office:
Painted the back of my bookcase funky black and white stripes.
Moved the dining room light fixture into my office and added red grosgrain ribbon along the edges.  I just love my little Frugalista hideaway and how it reflects my personality.  Casual, a little funky, a little vintage, a little fiery red, with a hint of glam!

In the dining room:
My latest find!  The silver and crystal chandelier echo some of the elements in our living room.  The sparkle it casts throughout the space is beautiful.

Packed in our basement storage I unearthed a couple of ornate wall sconces that I plan on chalk painting for this space.  I think it's time for another treasure hunt for the perfect mirror to go along with them!
New Chandelier
To echo the dark and white cabinets in the kitchen (see kitchen cabinet transformation) and the white bookcases in the living room (see 80's Wall Unit Hack), we added Martha Stewart paintable wallpaper in a beadboard pattern to the back of the china cabinet.  I love how everything behind the glass now pops!
Another very exciting addition to our dining room is in the works but more about that in an upcoming post!
