It's Themed Furniture Makeover Day, one of my favorite days of the month, and the theme this time is Coastal. Being a landlocked Canadian prairie girl with dreams of one day living on the coast, I was more than excited about our theme this month.
Vintage Coastal Metal Nesting Tables
This is what the not so pretty metal tables looked like before...
They definitely saw their better days but after a few coats of spray paint, they are ready for that beach house or lakefront cottage that I've been dreaming about.
Don't these pretty colors just make you happy?
Even when the tables are nested together, the colors still pop. The tables could be used indoors but I can see them sitting on a poolside patio.

Here's how I did it
All three tables were spray painted three coats of White Gloss, Coral Gloss, and Aqua Satin. The feet and the circles on the legs were just begging for some retro glam. Considering the tables were just painted hours prior, I used Delicate Surface Frog Tape to mask around the circles and the legs to protect the fresh paint.
Then I applied Gold Gilding Wax by rubbing it on with my finger and let it dry for about 30 minutes before buffing it with a lint-free rag. The following day after everything was dry, I sprayed the tables with two coats of clear coat to protect the finish.
I'm swooning over the retro coastal vibe these tables now have and I'm thrilled with how the metal mesh tops look in these bright colors.
Whether or not you have a coastal home, lake cottage, or backyard pool, these tables would make such a fun statement for a landlocked deck, patio, or balcony during the Summer too.
I'm not going to lie, that tall glass of lemonade didn't last long after taking this picture. So refreshing on one of the warmest days we've seen this June.
I used the same white and aqua spray paint when I repurposed a hurricane candle holder into a DIY Bistro Table. What can I say, I love the color so much that I also refreshed a Wrought Iron Plant Stand too and a Mid Century Coppercraft Mirror.
