Countdown to Christmas with JORD

Now that the calendar has been flipped to November, the countdown to Christmas has begun. This year I decided to make handmade gifts for those hosting holiday gatherings and special events. So the pressure is now on to come up with ideas, shop for supplies, and create something they will appreciate. Thanks to JORD I'll be staying on track this holiday season as I go about the busyness of preparing those special gifts!

Supply shopping for handmade holiday hostess gifts

Friends, you all know how much I love to breath new life into things by giving them a new purpose. Remember the Rustic Centerpiece Trivets I made for my daughter's wedding in August?

Waste not, want not, they are being repurposed for my handmade hostess gifts this holiday season. Garnered with a list and a small window of time, I headed out the door to shop for more supplies. Thinking I was ahead of the game, I soon learned so was everyone else. The stores were packed and like-minded DIYers had already cleared most of the craft supplies I needed.

I was so grateful to be sporting my new JORD women's watch because it really helped me keep track of time. What was supposed to be a 1-hour shopping trip turned into an entire day as I drove from store-to-store from one end of the city to the other in search of multiples of the items needed to make my gifts?

Shopping for craft supplies

Normally I rely on my cell phone to keep track of time but with it kept in my purse, I often forgot and before I knew it, I hadn't eaten all day. It was so convenient with a quick twist of my wrist, to be reminded when it was time to stop and grab a bite to eat and rest my weary feet.

Taking a break during holiday shopping rush

When the package containing my watch arrived on my doorstep I squealed with joy like a child on Christmas morning. JORD had me at the lovely wooden box! Being an avid DIYer who works with wood a lot, this unique watch couldn't be more fitting. Look at the gorgeous grain in the JORD Zebrawood and Maple Wood Watch and I love the easy push button dual fold clasp.

Being a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal it's casual rustic style suits my personality. I could see it paired with black leggings and a sparkly sweater for my holiday soirées. It certainly was a conversation piece while I stood in the long line ups chatting it up with fellow shoppers.

After a long but successful shopping day here is one of the gifts I made with the repurposed wedding trivets. Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone! I hope the recipients like their handmade gifts this year. I reserved one trivet for a special project. More about that another day...
