This table used to be in the living room but it has now been shuffled to the master bedroom. But first it received a makeover - more about that later.
Why? Because the Swan Table that used to be in the bedroom has now moved to the living room.
Because it's going to sit between these two beauties (they will be when I'm done with them) that we picked up for $60.00 a piece.
But before I moved the living room table into the master bedroom it needed a makeover.
It's an inexpensive box store table that started with a dark espresso finish. I used it as my guinea pig when I first discovered milk paint and became one of my first furniture makeovers. It was milk painted in Ironstone white and Boxwood green to add some character.
Now it's been transformed into a White, Gold, and Duck Egg Blue Night Table more suitable to our bedroom décor. It's the perfect height as a night table and the drawer is so handy too.
I painted the drawer in Duck Egg Blue chalk paint and lined it with pretty scrapbook paper.
The top was painted in Duck Egg Blue as well and the edge rubbed with metallic gold gilding wax. The pretty white and gold polka dot knob I had in my stash.
The rest of the table was painted with Pure White chalk paint and distressed along the edges. The bottom shelf was just begging for something so I stenciled a flower using the gold metallic gilding wax.
The bottom of the legs got a hand dipped look using painters tape and more of the metallic gold gilding wax. I distressed the wax by vigorously buffing it until some of the color was removed.
The table compliments the other gold elements in the room so nicely.
As much as I loved the Swan Table in this room I'm quite pleased with it's replacement.
Time to head down to the shop and get started on those two arm chairs. I can't wait to get started!
