Oh my goodness, how quick a year goes by!A year ago yesterday I went into Blogger for the first time, chose a standard template, filled in the blanks and hit the Upload Button. I had no clue what I was doing other than that I wanted to share our numerous DIY projects to whomever was out there in cyberspace willing to listen!
I'm one of those jump in and get er done kinda gals, so flying by the seat of my pants I began the journey of blogging. Ha, I had no idea there was this huge DIY blogging community out there and hadn't a clue that blogging wasn't for the faint of heart. Oh my, if I knew then what I know now, I may have run the opposite direction with my tail between my legs!
When I think about my journey over the last twelve months I am stunned...dizzy...blown away by how much this old gal has learned - who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! When I say I knew nothing...I mean I knew ABSOLUTELY nothing about html/CSS coding, graphics and photo editing, SEO, or Social Media (other than my personal Facebook page).
This has been a slow, taking baby steps, walk down the blogosphere lane. Thank goodness for online courses, of which I've taken many. I can't thank enough the bloggers out there who share blogging tutorials - you have been a Godsend! Some are listed at the bottom of my blog under "Helpful Blogging Tutorials". I get exhausted just thinking about the numerous all nighters I've pulled in the name of "learning the language of HTML".
I want to thank my family and friends for their encouragement and support on this journey - you have been my biggest cheerleaders! A BIG Thank You to Mr. Frugalista for putting up with the void which was once a wife while I've been having an affair with my Blog. I want to thank my son Brandon who has given me crash photography, photo editing, and social media lessons. I want to thank my daughter Victoria for putting up with the only subject spurting out of my mouth these days - blogging and DIY project ideas.
I want to especially thank You, the readers of this blog who have taken time out of your day to visit, check out my projects, leave lovely comments, and join this or my other social media sites. I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know you all! I want to thank the bloggers who thought enough about some of my projects to feature them on your Link Parties - thrilled is an understatement!
So as the saying goes, "You've come a long way baby" and I look forward to another year of taking baby steps down the path we call Blogging!
Here is my very first post on November 3rd, 2012. I vividly remember the moment I was so scared to press "Publish" but I'm sure glad I did!
